US v China: Tik Tok Under Fire

Image
Last month, the US government informed federal agencies that they had 30 days to remove Chinese owned app Tik Tok from government-owned devices. Some agencies, such as the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and State, already have restrictions in place. “The Biden-Harris Administration has invested heavily in defending our nation’s digital infrastructure and curbing foreign adversaries’ access to Americans’ data,” said Chris DeRusha, the federal chief information security officer. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew testified last week before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where the US lawmakers aggressively questioned Chew over its alleged ties to the Chinese government and the company’s data-security practices. Russia Oil Cap Explained for dummies

Russia Oil Cap Explained for dummies  The G7 countries, EU, Australia and the US have set caps on Russian oil products effective from Feb 5 2023, at 60 dollars per barrel of petrol.  What this basically means is that Russia cannot sell petrol barrels to countries in the G7, EU and Australia at more than 60 dollars a barrel. His calm and collected demeanour, mixed with his penchant for having fun with the press, made him a fan favourite really quick. He is probably someone you can chill with, throwback and have a beer or two. Although, George W Bush, the predecessor of Obama ordered an invasion of Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban, destroy the terrorist group al-Qaeda, and capture Osama bin Laden. He also signed the controversial Patriot Act in order to authorize surveillance of suspected terrorists, there were 10 times more air strikes in the cover war during Obama's presidency. Obama  embraced the US drone programme , overseeing more strikes in his first year than Bush carried out during his entire presidency. A total of 563 strikes, largely by drones, targeted Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen during Obama’s two terms, compared to 57 strikes under Bush. Between 384 and 807 civilians were killed in those co...
